6 weeks!!!

I am sure i am not alone in finding it extremely difficult to run a business from home with a child in tow. I have had such a lovely time with my son at home, but he starts reception class tomorrow so i'll have so much time to work. I am not sure where to start.

I have almost run out of stock this summer so i suppose I had better get making.

I've ordered some lovely bits recently, Mostly for children's cards as these have been so so popular.

I can't wait to get making again and be able to share them with you.

Hope you've all made the most of your summer breaks with your lovely children but just in case you need more time, Only 6 weeks until October half term ;-)

Magnolia tilda

My new obsession!

Everything about it screams cute, the images, the colourings and all the elements.

It works so well with the vintage feel that I am also a little obsessed with and I can't wait to get making.

But for now, here is my first attempt.
I'd love to here what you think and what your current cardmaking themes are x x

I got carried away and made Erm well a few more...

Hard cards

As a cardmaker do you struggle at times with certain cards, knowing what to do, finding inspiration?

For me it is usually men's cards, I think it's because although they are very nice, the temptation to make them pretty is more than I can bear at times.

But today I was asked to make a with sympathy card. I am very honoured to have been asked to do something so personal and special but the softy that I am, I tend to get a little sad about it.

And it's knowing what is right and what is too much.

I just hope I've done it justice and the sentiment can be cherished by the recipient.

I'd love to hear your views about 'hard cards'

A bit of a sort out.

I decided that the end of the tax year called for a good sort of my current stock.

I am one of these people who gets easily distracted, especially by pretty things. So I was soon carried away with sorting all my pretty stash out.
Firstly my flowers, I love them so much but craftwork cards do not sell these ones anymore. And I think this stops me from using then because I would hate to run out. But seeing just how many I have is enough to make me realise that I must start using them more often!!

Then came the die cuts....

I really think I have a problem, it's a good job I love craftwork cards, if you haven't yet I highly recommend popping over to their blog

But please do not blame me if you spend lots of pennies ;-)

And finally a bit of a crazy dream, but I found the most amazing summer house and I'd love to turn it in to a craft room.

I'd need a lottery win but just see how pretty it is ....

Its been a year.

And a few weeks in typical ME style, I am always late with my blogging. tsk I will remove my own wine privileges as punishment! Promise :p

Anyway Exclusively by Claire is a year old, and what an amazing year it has been. Full of highs and even higher highs.

Since giving up my job in August to do this full time, I can't deny that at times its been hard work and occasionally feels like i am constantly hitting my head on a brick wall. Would i change any of it?

And these last few weeks the feedback from both my customers and fellow cardmakers has been mind blowing in honesty. 2 cards in particular seemed to have really wowed people and having shared one today on my Pinterest account it was repinned 13 times in just a few hours.

I know this is my business and all sales are welcome and is essential, But feedback like this is incredible and i feel very emotional about it today and completely overwhelmed.

I'd like to say a massive thank you to my customers, new and old, those who come back time and time again, without you Exclusively by Claire would not still be here. And to all my followers your support is what keeps me going, I love that we can bounce ideas off one another and that you genuinely seem to like what i create.
It means the world to me.

So here's to the next year, i raise a glass of erm well not wine, Obviously ;-)

Who'd have thought the humble birdcage would inspire me so much?

I have over the last few weeks made lots of cards using the birdcage Tim Holtz Die, It has proved to be very popular with my customers too.

Here are some examples of what i have created so far :D

This one above has been especially popular this year, Each one has been slightly different but i've loved making them all.
The birdcage lends itself well to the easel style card, both twisted and normal easel. It adds depth to the card and sits perfectly with style.

I stumbled across this fascinating site a few months ago. I signed up but didn't really 'get' it.

I added some of my creations to it and found some other stunning things and then kind of forgot about it. Then all of a sudden 3 emails pop up telling me I have some followers. Oh exciting stuff.

So i figured if people wanted to follow me, I needed to at least pretend to know what i am doing. BAD move! I am hooked!

Its nice to have somewhere new to share my own work but it is lovely to be able to easily share others work too. And not just things like that, All matter of things are on there. Its fabulous being able to look at pretty things and people (Johnny Depp, Benedict Cumberbatch and One Direction...... I have just given too much away haven't i???)

So if you have not already, I highly recommend. It is becoming really popular and its a lovely alternative to Facebook and Twitter. (I promise I am not on the payroll)

This is me, Pop over and get involved.

PS Do not blame me if you'e hooked :p
